Blue Voyage from Marmaris
through Fethiye is very
exciting. Ekincik, Koycegiz
Harbor, Dalyan, Kaunos, Iztuzu
Beach, Delikada, Fethiye Gulf
and then from Turunc
back to Marmaris are the
recommended destinations during
your voyage.
On the way through Ekincik you
will see the Karaagac Harbor on
the left first. The Harbor and
the island (Yilancik) belong to
the military zone. Karaagac
Harbor hosts lots of great
coves.
Ekincik
~ Koycegiz Harbor
Koycegiz Gulf hosts lots
of coves and the Ekincik
Harbor. The coves on the
west side of the gulf that
mostly the yachts and boats
prefer to anchor are
Semizce, Kargi and
Karacay Coves.
Ekincik is a worldwide
famous and special bay covered
with pine trees and is located
between
Marmaris and Dalyan. You
may find the Ekincik Cove by
passing the Iztuzu Beach
by Dalyan. Ekincik is
also known as the Kurkculer
Village. Ekincik is one of
the most preferred blue voyage
destinations. With its
reputation, you may meet with a
world-famous celebrity or movie
star at any time in Ekincik.
Sting, Dustin Hoffman, Pamela
Anderson, Princess Caroline and
Prince Charles are some of them.
There are two anchoring points
in the Ekincik Harbor. One is
across the village and the other
one is via the Mine
Port-Marina Club. Small
boats working between
Dalyan-Iztuzu Beach are located
here too. |

There are many facilities in
Ekincik such as hotels, pension,
markets, buffets and phone
infrastructure. The beach is
hundreds of meters long and
fascinating. The road from the
port leads to the central
Koycegiz and to the main
road of Mugla-Fethiye. The
mining facility on the southeast
side of the harbor is used to be
serving chrome for import-export
business and now is currently
belongs to an enterprise serving
for the yachts. The facility is
very popular with its variety of
fish cuisine. Koycegiz is
at the northern end of a lake
and meets the Mediterranean Sea
by a natural channel. This
unique environment is preserved
as a nature and wildlife
sanctuary.
Dalyan
~
Kaunos
~ Iztuzu Beach
A road shaded with aromatic
frankincense trees leads to the
village of Dalyan on the
inland waterway. The maze of
channels are easily explored by
small boats. High on the cliff
face, at a bend in the river,
above the fascinating ancient
harbor city of Kaunos and
the magnificent tombs are carved
into the rock. The Dalyan Delta,
with a long and golden sandy
beach of Iztuzu at its
mouth, is a nature conservation
area and a refuge for the sea
turtles (Caretta Caretta) and
the blue crabs. |

Delikada
Delikada is located just
across the Iztuzu Beach,
on the entrance of Dalyan.
Delikada is mostly preferred by
the daily boats coming from
Marmaris and by the blue voyage
yachts. You are able to pass to
Iztuzu Beach and Dalyan by the
mini taxi boats. Dalyan,
Caunos and Mud Bath
tours are being organized here.
There are few sheltering and
mooring coves between Iztuzu and
Sarigeme.
Besides Delikada, Asi (Aşı)
Cove is another mooring and
sheltering are for the yachts.
The environment is great. The
cove is located between two huge
rocky cape. And there is a small
island in the cove. The cove is
very ideal for swimming and
mooring. There is a small
quality restaurant at the shore.
After passing through the
Karaburun, the mountains get
lower through Dalaman.
The area is called Dalaman Cove.
The Baba (Father) Island
and The Sarigerme Beach
stand just beside the cove.
Sarigerme and its beach are very
famous. Kilometers of coastline,
holiday resorts and five star
hotels are very popular. The
boats mostly moor in the
northeast side of the cove. The
sea is very clear and bright. On
the hills, there is a remnant of
a small tower. Away from the Dalaman Cove, the coastline rise
again through the Kapidag
Peninsula. The coastline
finally ends with the Kurtoglu
Cape.
Fethiye Gulf
After Kurtoglu Cape, Fethiye
Gulf and calm waters welcome
you. Fethiye Gulf is a very
popular Blue Voyage destination
with lots of islands and heaven
environment. Fethiye is a
popular resort 135 kilometres on
the southeast of Marmaris. A
hill crowned by the ruins of the
crusader fortress built by the
Knights of Rhodes overlooks the
small harbor. Above the town,
ancient city of Telmessos with
the numerous Lycian rock tombs
salute the visitors.
back to Turunc (Marmaris)
Turunc is a nice coastal village
of Marmaris located in a
wonderful cove, on the
south-southwest
of Marmaris. A Turunc trip is
highly recommended for the
tourists having a holiday in
Marmaris. A must see place.
Being an old fisherman village,
Turunc, is also a very popular
pit-stop for the yachts and blue
voyagers. You may see lots of
anchored yachts and boats in the
night and the restaurants are
full of visitors. The Turunc
Cove has a blue flag which means
the beaches and the sea are in
great condition, has
infrastructure for the yachts
and clean. |
