Hafsa Sultan
Caravanserai
Another Ottoman structure in
Marmaris is the Caravanserai of
Sultan Hafsa (the mother of
Suleyman the Magnificent).
Caravanserai is a roadside inn
for the travellers or troops for
resting and recovering. Hafsa
Sultan Caravanserai was built in
1545. The caravanserai is
covered with arches on the top
and located just by the narrow
street leading to the castle.
With an outstanding
architecture, the caravanserai has
one big and seven small rooms.
Nowadays, it is serving for
the souvenir shops and cafes.
Caravanserai is a nice tourist
place.
Tomb of Sariana
The
tomb is located on the
north-east slopes of the town.
It
was built in the Ottoman style
for the memory of
Sariana. Sariana was famous with
her prophecies. During the
campaign for Rhodes, Suleyman
the Magnificent visits Sariana
and takes positive answers for
the campaign. She also
helped the Ottoman troops by
carrying them milk and
predicting the conquest of the
Rhodes during the years of the
campaign.

Aga Mosque
Ibrahim
Aga Mosque is located in the
Kemeraltı district. It was built
in 1789. It has a great value of
architecture with the huge dome
