Paradise Island
is known as an island but it is
actually a peninsula (Nimara)
all covered with
forests. It is located just
across the
Marmaris
Bay. The
island is a popular place for
the daily boat trips. All boats
stop by the island.
If you want you may ride eight
kilometers to the Yalanci Bogaz
(Fake Straight) and from there
take a walk to the island. It
may be a nice trekking
experience for you. The path
through the island is great for
nature lovers. It has a
wonderful landscape.
There are a
lot of restaurants and cafes on
the island for the visitors.
There are few less-known caves
on the island.
The region is very suitable for
swimming. You may spend a great
day in your island visit for
sure.
The Yalanci Bogaz (Fake
Straight) is a rocky area
connecting the Paradise Island to
the land. It has a story of a
captain who has hided to the
area for sheltering in a very
stormy weather thinking that it
is a straight but ran aground
after. Due to this story the
area named as "Fake Straight".
There are wooden gullet
shipyard.
