Travelling to Marmaris - How to Get There?

Arrival by Plane

The closest airport to Marmaris is Dalaman Airport (88 km.) and there are regular shuttle bus services and transfer companies making Dalaman Airport Transfers to Marmaris from the airport. Dalaman Airport Phone No.: +90 252 792 52 91

 

    * Domestic Filghts : There are a lot of direct flights to Dalaman Airport. From Istanbul you can fly via Turkish Airlines (www.thy.com), Atlasjet (www.atlasjet.com.tr), Onur Air (www.onurair.com.tr), Pegasus Airlines (twww.flypgs.com) and SunExpress (www.sunexpress.com.tr). From Ankara you can fly via Onur Air. From Izmir you can fly via Atlasjet, Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines, and SunExpress. From Izmir you can fly via Onur Air and Pegasus Airlines.

 

    *  International Filghts : Especially in summer times there are lot of direct charter flights from Europe to Dalaman Airport. Other international flights are mostly being made through Istanbul and Izmir.

 

Arrival by Road

Transportation to Marmaris by road is very well organized especially in summer times. There are a lot of bus services from the big cities and from many close districts. From Izmir, Fethiye and Bodrum, there are busses about every hour. It takes about 13 hours from Istanbul, 5 hours from Izmir, 7 hours from Antalya and 10 hours from Ankara and 3 hours from Bodrum. Arrival by Ferry & Boat

Marmaris has one of the biggest international marina and port in Turkey. Car Ferries from Bodrum and Datca are being made regularly (Phone Number: +90 252 316 10 87). Hydrofoils trips from Bodrum to Marmaris are being made twice a week by Bodrum Express Lines (www.bodrumexpresslines.com). A lot of privates boats come and stay in Marmaris every summer. Also regular ferry services from the Greek island of Rhodes are being made every day in summer times.

 

Passport and Visa information
U.S. and European citizens need a valid passport to enter Turkey and stay up to 90 days with a tourist visa. Before you travel to Turkey, also make sure your passport is valid for at least 90 days. There is no need for an application for tourist visas. You are able to purchase your visa at the Turkish Airports upon your arrival. There are visa desks by the passport control points. Make sure you buy the visa first and then join the passport control point.
